The Fresh Look 5 Step Process

Phase 1- Design and Quote 

To begin your journey, please complete the Contact Form or email quote@freshlookaz.com and provide us with the number of doors and drawer fronts, approximate dimensions, and a description of your design ideas and personal style. If applicable, please also send any design inspiration photos. One of our design consultants will schedule a time to visit your home to help you select the perfect colors to suit your style. We will leave you with a no-obligation quote good for 60 days. 

Phase 2- Booking and Deposit

When you’re ready to book we require a 50% deposit. Payments can be made via Cash, Check, Apple Pay, Zelle, or Venmo. This deposit secures your date and design selection. Any date changes, color changes, or adding to the scope of work may result in additional charges. We usually book 5-6 weeks ahead. 

Phase 3- Prepare Your Space

Prior to your Makeover Week we ask that you remove items from your countertops, top of fridge, and top of cabinets. We will not move your items so please have this done prior to our arrival to prevent delays. You do not have to remove items from the inside of your cabinets or drawers. We ask that any pets are put away from the areas being painted. For best results, please set the temperature in the room(s) to 74-76 degrees. 

Phase 4- Makeover Week

Day one begins with our artists removing all cabinet doors and drawer fronts. We then clean, prime and hand paint the first coat on the cabinet housings. This can take between 3 and 5 hours depending on the number of cabinets, condition of the cabinets and color selection. Once completed, the doors and drawer fronts are taken back to the Fresh Look Studio and you will be provided with an estimated return date (generally 4-6 days later). 

Once back at the studio, we remove the hardware and prepare the cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Our process includes cleaning, sanding, priming and hand painting a minimum of two coats of Fusion Mineral Paint. We utilize a "top coat" in between coats of paint to ensure a durable and reliable finish. Depending on the condition of the doors and the color selected, additional coats may be necessary. The cleaned hardware is reinstalled and the doors and drawer fronts are packaged for return. 

On your return date, we will complete a second coat of paint on the cabinet housings, reinstall the cabinet doors and drawer fronts, and complete any touch ups. Final payment is collected at this time. If you allow, we will take “after” photos for our Facebook page. 

Phase 5- Enjoy!

The paint takes 21 days to fully cure. Depending on the activity level in your home, dings may occur. We will leave you with a sample of your paint should you need to do touch ups. Use a small paint brush and gently dab a light coat of paint on until it blends. Until it is fully cured, if the paint gets wet or dirty do not rub it! Dab it lightly with a dry cloth.
